A cult wine comes to an end... Plus John Duval in the shop this Friday!

31 July 2009

No more RBJ!
A somewhat solemn e-mail this week: as we see the end of a cult Barossa wine.
Originally RBJ was a collaboration between some of the biggest names in the Barossa, with superstar winemakers Chris Ringland (R) and Rolf Binder (B) teaming up with Barossa-based viticulturalist Russell Johnstone (J) and long-serving Rockford staffer Lynette Collins. Rolf was the first player to leave due to a busy schedule with his own wines & other labels. Chris now projects his energy into R Wines, not to forget the iconic label that is Chris Ringland (formerly Three Rivers), plus Russell and Lynette, with their connection to Rockford and their love of cycling all have too much on, thus having to call an end to the label RBJ.

What does all this mean? They want to sell off the remaining wine and they have offered it to us way too cheap... so now you can purchase the 2002 RBJ Theologicum at half the normal price, for only $15 a bottle. This wine will surely not last long so get in quick as it is drinking beautifully.

You can purchase the 2002 RBJ Theologicum, on-line, via e-mail, wine@eastendcellars.com.au or just give us a call on 8232 5300.

John Duval in store tasting
A very special treat this Friday the 7th of August as we open the doors to the masterful, Mr John Duval - yes he of Penfolds Grange fame. Now well established with his own label John Duval Wines, John will be showing some of his own... and some new drops from Chile, where he is doing consultancy with the label Ventisquero. His work incorporates varietals such as Carmenere, Cabernet and Syrah.

So please join us on Friday evening from 5 till 7 to meet the master and try the wines!

Remember, even if you can't make the tasting, you can still purchase John Duval's wine on-line at www.eastendcellars.com.au, shoot us an e-mail or even give us a call, on 08 8232 5300.
