Spring into three new Tastings...
3 September 2009
Spring has sprung and the 'tasting' season has begun. So dust off those palates as we bring three great tastings over the next week.
Trevor Jones - Friday the 4th of September 5-7pm - Free
For this Friday nights tasting we look at the grand wines of Trevor Jones and dive head first into his Barossa beauties, including the "big scoring" 2006 Wild Witch. So why not kick off your Friday evening & drop in before the footy starts and join us from 5-7pm this Friday the 4th. You could even take a bottle of Trevor Jones home to enjoy, while you watch the Crows win!?
Remember, even if you can't make the tasting, you can still purchase the Trevor Jones wines on-line at www.eastendcellars.com.au, shoot us an e-mail or even give us a call, on 08 8232 5300.

Lunch with Bouchard at Mantra Restaurant- Saturday the 12th of September from 12:30pm - $140
One for all you Burgundy lovers out there...
We are delighted to find out Luc Bouchard, from Bouchard Pere & Fils is taking some time out of his busy schedule from the Eastern Seaboard to include little ol’ Adelaide in his travels. Even better news is that Luc is bringing some of their 2007 wines for a sneak-peek.
What better way to see the house of Bouchard with a family member on-board, and to inspect an exciting vintage… with some food to boot.
So on Saturday the 12th; from 12:30pm (sharp) at the splendid Mantra on King William Road, we will be looking at the following wines:
Whites
2007 Bourgogne 'La Vignee' Chardonnay
2007 Beaune de Chateau Premier Cru
2007 Meursault 'Genevrieres' Premier Cru
2006 Meursault 'Genevrieres' Premier Cru
2007 Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru
Reds
2007 Bourgogne 'La Vignee' Pinot Noir
2007 Volnay 'Caillerets Cuvee Ancienne Cuvee Carnot' Premier Cru
2007 Le Corton Grand Cru
2001 Le Corton Grand Cru
2007 Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru
As for the proceedings, it will be simple & easy. A glass or two upon arrival, then sit down and run through four whites (Beaune to Chevalier) and with what you have in front; a try with food: salmon terrine with a crispy caper radicchio, cornichon salad with tarragon sauce and melba toast. Followed in suit by the reds matched with boudin of duck confit and foie gras with a cassoulet of white beans… Yum!
This is a brilliant way to see just how well Bouchard are situated nowadays, in the relaxed surroundings of Mantra, on a cosy Saturday afternoon.
If this tickles your fancy, let us know ASAP as places are limited. Tickets are only $140 for all of this fun and represents great value (bookings must be met with payment). For all enquires and bookings please e-mail wine@eastendcellars.com.au or call us on 08 8232 5300.
