Saturday the 7th of November, 12-4pm - 'The Alternative Crew'

This is a glance at the new wave varieties coming to Australia by vine and bottle. The day is a chance to look at varieties like Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Gruner Veltliner and the sorts. Quite simply this booze is, "so hot right now" and once again we have some fantastic examples on show. Featuring local and imported wines from the likes of Some Young Punks, First Drop, Spinifex, Pichot and Emmerich Knoll, this is a great way to see how far the industry has grown.

2009 Penny's Hill Sauvignon Blanc @ $15 a bottle
A new release from the team at Penny's...A riper style of Sauvignon Blanc without being a muffin top, this is abound with gooseberry, lychee and a notes of kaffir lime leaves. Great value drinking for all you ‘Savvy Lovers’ out there.

2007 Heartland Viognier Pinot Gris @ $13 a bottle
End of stock going out cheap! Fresh and zippy, this shows typical Viognier pear flavours which meshes seamlessly with fresh, melon flavours from the Pinot Gris.

2008 Muster All Sorts Red  @ $13 a bottle
As the name suggests this is blend of a few varities. Inside the bottle you will find some skliful blending of Shiraz, Grenache, Mourvedre and Tempranillo all sourced from the Barossa. Cracking Value!

2008 Koltz 'Dog Day' Shiraz @ $16 a bottle
Another belter from Mark Day. Cracking value here with the Dog Day Shiraz, with big bright fruit delivering rich full-bodied palate.

2007 Negoce Heathcote Shiraz @ $18 a bottle
This is a textbook effort of the silky soft Heathcote Shiraz, more savoury than most, this is a great food wine with stunning complexity.

 

S.C. Pannell Tasting - This Friday the 30th of October

This Friday's tasting we welcome an old friend behind the counter, with Stephen Pannell in showing his fine collection of wines. From his new Sauvignon Blanc and Pronto Red and White to his Shiraz Grenache and Nebbiolo, all will be on show. So drop by anytime this Friday between 5-7pm and meet the man behind these brilliant wines.
