2008 Burgundy Pre-Arrivals

It is that time of the year again... and this offer is looking bigger and better then ever. There is a lot of reading here as we have squeezed in many of your favourite names, from some great white Burgundy producers like Blain Gagnard and William Fevre, some of the top red Burgundy producers including Bouchard, Faiveley and Frederic Mugnier, plus new superstar Domaine d'Eugenie. There is something for everyone... As always we will endeavour to fill all orders but unfortunately, this is a first in, best dressed affair.

New Release Koltz

If you have followed the EEC electronic over the years you will know we are quite the fans of Mark Day and his label Koltz (Blewitt Springs), especially for his blockbuster wine the "Pagan". Well Mark has been working on some new projects over the past few years and is now ready to release them in all their fury.

2009 Koltz 'Etruscan' Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz @ $32

The first release of this wine and Mark has made an absolute beauty! Blending 65% Sangiovese with 25% Cabernet and the remaining 10% being Shiraz, this 'Super Tuscan' is very commanding. This oozes class with deep rich flavours comlemented by seamless, soft tannins. This is a true Super Etruscan.

2009 Koltz 'the Wizard' Shiraz @ $37

The 'Wizard' follows the traditional techniques from Valpolicella, ala Ripasso,which is made by fermenting young wine with the skins and lees left over from making 'Amarone'. The wine itself has an amazing lift and an aroma that will excite the whole room. 'The Wizard' is an intensely fruit driven wine with a firm, fine-tannin structure and lots of complexity, not to forget a luscious & long mouthfeel.
