Spring brings many thoughts to peoples minds. Grosset Riesling's
A label that really needs no introduction... Jeffrey Grosset has been producing some of Australia's best Rieslings since 1981 and shows no sign of slowing down with his 2010 release's.
2010 Grosset Polish Hill Riesling @ $42
This is a more typical 'Polish Hill' than the exuberant 2009: shy, reserved and closed. The 2010 Grosset Polish Hill Riesling has restrained aromatics, a hint of lime blossom, some pebbly, wet stone fragrance, powerful mouth-puckeringly dry and pristine lime flavours that are deep, powerful and tightly coiled with savoury, slatey minerality. The finish is pure Grosset: flinty, achingly dry, memorable.

2010 Grosset 'Springvale' Watervale Riesling @ $32
The 2010 Grosset Springvale Riesling has lemon, lime blossom aromatics, intense pure tangy lime juice, is fine and impeccably focused, powerful and tight with mouth-watering zesty quartz minerality on a bone-dry finish that lingers. Layer after layer of flavour washes over the palate followed by an impeccably balanced, satisfying, taut grip.

'09 Glaetzer's
We have mentioned on a few occasions in the EEC Electronic that 2009 will be a vintage to watch out for, and here is our first South Australian 'Big Gun' to roll out. And boy do they deliver. Here is what the winemaker Ben Glaetzer had to say about the vintage... After two challenging vintages in 2007 and 2008, we were ready to have a perfect vintage – 2009 was spectacular. A “gift” of a vintage, we had a long, even growing season after good winter rainfall. Mild and dry conditions during February slowed ripening, and saw all individual blocks perform exceptionally well.
Enough about the vintage, this is all about the wines... All at very special prices with notes from the man himself; Ben Glaetzer.
2009 Glaetzer Amon Ra Shiraz @ $80
The rich purple colour indicates both youthful exuberance and density. A compelling nose of espresso, truffles, dark plums and blackcurrant with layers of aromatic intensity that remains fresh and lively. The palate is multilayered, with masses of cassis and mixed spice, and a hint of chocolate. Amon-Ra 09 displays an appealing brightness and beguiling purity. This is an Amon-Ra that will be remembered for its true, elegant expression of our Ebenezer terroir.
2009 Glaetzer Anaperenna Shiraz Cabernet @ $46
Anaperenna rejoins the Glaetzer family in 2009 after an absence in 2008. The wine is a seamless fusion of two varieties: Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Enticing liquorice and fragrant herb notes on the nose, revealing hints of dark stone fruits and cassis with layers of roasted coffee beans. The key characteristic on the palate is the textural tannins that provide support for the supple yet restrained palate - finishing with freshness, purity and length.
2009 Glaetzer Bishop Shiraz @ $29
Wisps of cloves, nutmeg and five spice add definition to the layers of dark stone fruits and espresso. The palate has density yet also displays savoury, textural components and fine-grained ripe tannins.
