Louis Roederer may have changed their label but the wines true approach stays the same. An abundance of bready, yeasty characters jump out at you, whilst the palate is clear and controlled. A rich creamy texture is complimented with notes of croissants, honey and oyster shell.

Pol Roger remains one of the few large family owned houses in Champagne, with descendent, Christian Pol Roger regularly
travelling the globe to spread the word about his families fine Champagnes. The Pol Brut has always been one of our favourite N/V’s. Pure, rich, green apple like fruit character dominates with enticing hints of nuts, honey and brioche adding complexity. Yum.

As the name suggests this stylish Champagne is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, otherwise known as Blanc de Blancs. This wine really stood out in our masked line-up. It is
fresh, bright and focussed showing hints of honey, crisp green apple with some nice toasty, nutty notes adding complexity. Great value for a wine of this quality.

"I am a no-holds-barred Dom addict, but I have to admit to being somewhat disappointed with the '99 vintage, which seemed altogether too delicate, verging on outright simplicity. I have no such reservations about the 2000 vintage, which has the Dom hallmark fluid line and feline grace encouraging the rapid consumption of glass after glass. Along the way you will find notes of nectarine, cherry, brioche and cream, which build into a gloriously long and even finish. It will continue to develop in bottle for decades to come." 97 points, $290; Top 100 Wines of 2008 James Halliday
