New Majella Releases
24 June 2008
Majella wines have always been a favourite of ours and their new releases show that consistency is the key for these Coonawarra legends, as they produce another blinding set of wines, from a see-sawing appellation. They've amassed a string of awards across their entire range of wines, and from all reports the new releases are some of their best yet!
As they say, the proof is in the pudding, so come in this Friday night from 5 to 7pm to try the wines and chat with father and son team Brian and Peter Lynn. Also there will be a special tasting of some Museum releases with the 2001 Shiraz and one of their most awarded wines the 2004 Cabernet, plus these wines will be for sale on the night!
If you can't make the tasting but are interested in purchasing these two wines please send an e-mail to wine@eastendcellars.com.au and as always the new wines are available to purchase on-line, by phone, e-mail or you can even come into the shop and see us personally.

"This is a lovely release. It tastes of eucalypt and blackcurrant, plums and malt, and both its slippery texture and hearty, dark, medium-weight fruitiness are pretty much spot on. I thought this tasted good at the tasting bench and so served it to some folks later at dinner, and it was roundly praised - always a good sign. " Campbell Mattinson - Winefront.

Universally regarded as one of Coonawarra's greatest wines it continues to win trophies and medals throughout Australia and the world.
The 2006 Cabernet follows a long line of great Cabernets and is up to the challenge to continue this trend. Beautiful fruit weight and very well structured, with layer upon layer of rich black fruit with a long lasting finish... Could this be another trophy winner?

"The 2004 "The Malleea" is rich, dark magenta in colour, with ripe plums, spice and vanillin oak on the nose. The palate is like a complex fruit cake with layers of fresh berries, black olives and hints of chocolate. Fine dusty tannins enhance the finish."
