New releases from John Duval and La Curio. Plus free movie tickets!

30 March 2009
A new month brings some exciting new wines into the shop including wines from the legendary John Duval and the ever flourishing Adam Hooper from La Curio.

John Duval Wines...
From what was seen as a difficult vintage from 2007, with ongoing drought conditions and frost effects reducing yields all resulting in a very early start to vintage. Mr Duval using all his talent and incredible understanding of the vineyards has once again created picture perfect wines with the Plexus and Entity.
The 2007 Entity Shiraz at the special price of only $40 a bottle, is a great example of the powerful, yet elegant style John can create from these old vineyards, a wine destined for the cellar. While the 2007 Plexus at only $34 a bottle has been made using traditional, low intervention winemaking techniques making it more appraocable in its youth.

Come in and try the John Duval range this Friday night from 5 till 7pm, or Saturday afternoon from 12-3pm.

La Curio...
Once again Adam Hooper has created wines of personality and true fruit expression. Continuing his on-going passion to source premium McLaren Vale fruit, from vineyards that are extremely low yielding , are minimally irrigated and produce fruit with an abundance of varietal character. Some of the parcels of fruit have been sourced from local bush vines which are approximately eighty years of age.

Free movie passes...

In conjunction with Palace Nova Eastend Cinemas we have 20 double passes to see the newest wine snobbery movie "Bottle Shock". How do you get your hands on one of these I hear you asking, simple walk into the shop and ask for one... It's that easy.

BOTTLE SHOCK  (M) 109m
Bottle Shock is a hugely entertaining movie that has scored big at Sundance and the Film Festival circuit.  The story centres on the 1976 Judgement of Paris, when a British wine-shop owner operating in France (played by Alan Rickman with impeccable dry snobbery) organised a blind taste-test pitting French wines against Californian up-and-comers. It’s based on the true story that put New World Wines on the European wine map. Bottle Shock features a great ensemble cast including Bill Pullman, Chris Pine, Freddy Rodríguez and Australian Rachael Taylor who all delight in this warm, sunny charmer.

Bottle Shock opens exclusively in at Palace Nova Eastend Cinemas on March 26.

Check out the Palace Nova website for more details.
