Spinifex Taureau (2007)

Ignore the blend, as it doesn’t really dictate the style and enjoy this red for the sheer flavour. Here we see 41% Carignan and 32% Tempranillo with 27% Cabernet supporting the rear. An unusual combo but one that works so well; the nose displays a peachy, cola, cedar, cassis, context - moving to the palate you can see terrific acidity matched by freshly picked blackcurrants and toasty oak. Superb, chalky tannins are a recurring theme for the new Spinifex: commanding is the word.
