Teusner Joshua (2010)
"Joshua is the first name of one of my earliest ancestors in the Barossa Valley. It is also the name of my youngest nephew, and son of my business partner, Michael Page. This fusion of young and old means the name 'Joshua' perfectly characterizes this wine.
Joshua is made from Grenache, mataro and shiraz harvested from vineyards with up to 80 years of heritage in the Barossa Valley. It is an age old style, made famous in the Rhone valley.
We have, however, crafted this wine to retain it's youth and vibrancy, to demonstrate what well maintained, old vine barossa Grenache is all about. It is a wine that displays copious amounts of fresh red berry fruits and dusty tobacco leaf, without the intrusion of oak influence. A splash of mataro adds to the earthy complexity, whilst a little shiraz is used for structure and weight.
The ripe tannins of the Grenache are gently supportive, without being intrusive.
This is a wine designed to enjoy immediately that will cellar well for at least five years."
